Self-sufficient drinking water production. A solution exactly where it is needed.

Self-sufficient drinking water production. A solution exactly where it is needed.

Cleaning liquids: This is not only relevant for industry. It is also relevant for drinking water supplies. You can find out how we want to make our contribution here.

The WEF oscillating filtration systems are suitable for a wide range of applications - from the food industry to the textile industry. But: The systems are also suitable for the self-sufficient production of drinking water.

After presenting the system at a trade fair in Berlin, we took the opportunity to present our project to Engineers Without Borders. Our question: Is there a need for WEF oscillating filtration systems in the context of drinking water supply?

Solutions that work

It was important to us that our development reaches and helps where it is really useful and necessary. Cooperation with Engineers without Borders is ideal for this. They are the experts:

The non-profit and independent organization is involved in development cooperation with a particular focus on basic needs. The organization stands for sustainable, partnership-based support and focuses on two approaches:

  1. Passing on knowledge to aid organizations and people in need.

  2. Implementing concrete aid projects directly on site. For example, in the areas of drinking water supply, power supply or sanitary facilities.

This is precisely where the WEF oscillating filtration system comes in: It enables self-sufficient drinking water production in places where access to clean water is difficult but urgently needed. This may be because the areas are dry or remote, or because the groundwater is contaminated.

Why the issue of drinking water supply is important

Since 2010, access to clean drinking water and sanitary facilities has been considered a human right by the United Nations. However, a third of the world's population still has no access to it.

Water is the central basis of life for humans, animals and plants. But also for the economy and agriculture. A region can only grow sustainably if it has access to clean water.

The WEF oscillating filtration system as an innovative, practical measure on site

We see our WEF oscillating filtration system as a concrete measure that can improve the drinking water supply in the affected areas. This is because the system is mobile, energy self-sufficient and operates with very low energy costs. Oscillating resonance vibrations prevent performance-reducing deposits on the filter membrane. We equip the multi-stage filtration unit with photovoltaics and a battery storage unit to ensure the energy supply. We deliver the system pre-assembled in a 20-foot sea container. On site, aid organizations then support the installation and commissioning of the system. The system can process approx. 4,000 liters per day.
